Avontuur’s beautifully decorated and situated wine stand at the inaugural “We Luv Wine@ Cape Gate” Festival was a hive of activity throughout the two evenings of the event!
As usual the dark chocolate cups filled with 10 year old Brandy, making a yummy bite-sized treat, went down a storm and flew off the table @ R10 each. We also had fun introducing the multi-award winning Cab Franc and Dominion Royale Shiraz Reserve to a totally new market, who loved it so much that the tasting stock had to be sold there and then!
On Thursday evening, which was reasonably quiet and sedate, Nadia & Anel held the fort with style, and on Friday evening which was packed and buzzing, Schalk and Rita had their hands full with keeping glasses topped up and chatting about the farm, wines, horses and tasting room.
It was a good introduction to an area of the Cape Peninsula which is only now opening up for Avontuur’s wines, and we look forward to getting closer to these wine lovers over the next year.
