All eyes are on Turffontein on Saturday with an incredible day of racing planned and all the big names fighting it out for glory.
Our money (and hopes) are on the Gr 1 Computaform Sprint where classy sprinter What a Winter is trying to finally take the trophy, after missing out in his first attempt against our own champion sprinter of the year Val de Ra in 2011. In 2012 he lost against Shea Shea and this time around he has 3 VAR’s set to make his life really difficult in this prestigous race.
First up and favourite to take on What a Winter in fine style is VAR’s fabulously fast daughter Via Africa who to date has won 5 of her 7 starts. VAR flyer La Volta and 3yo son of VAR, Valberg, ridden by champion jockey Pierre Strydom makes up the 3-pronged VAR attack!
What a day of racing this will be – and the VAR’s are part of the action in a big way.
