Avontuur Estate’s highly rated sire Var did us proud at this weekend’s record-breaking Cape Yearling Sale in Durbanville with seven of his yearlings sold at an average of R519 286.
Three stunning colts went for R1 000 000 each to Mayfair Speculators, Dennis Drier and Geoff Woodruff respectively. They were Arctic Blast out of the Western Winter mare Icy Chariot, Rock Royalty out of Royal Fox and an unnamed yearling out of Argentinian import Bandera Nativa.
With the gross turnover of the Sale up by 40%, we are incredibly happy with Var’s performance and wish all buyers lots of luck with their purchases. We look forward to the National Yearling Sale in Johannesburg and hope to continue our success rate there.
