Winemaker Jan van Rooyen and the tasting room team are planning a trio of “Tutored Tastings” for this Winter.
We kick off on Saturday, 10 June from 11h00-12h30 with a tasting featuring the range of Avontuur wines which won awards at the recent National Wine Challenge. This will give participants the chance to chat to Jan about wine competitions, their worth, what it means to a winemaker and a winery to win awards and any other questions they’ve always wanted to ask about the “bling” industry.
On Saturday, 8 July and Saturday 12 August, the next sessions are offered. Watch this space for more info about themes and topics.
Each tasting is limited to 20 participants and include the tasting, a light meal and a glass of wine for only R100 pp. Bookings are essential and can be made in the tasting room with Ella or Marcelle or by emailing winery@avontuurestate.co.za.
