Thursday night’s 2nd Taste of the Helderberg Wine Festival was a huge success for Avontuur’s winery and restaurant. On the wine side, our award-winning Cabernet Franc 2009 sold well with lots of visitors being sent over by mutual Cab Franc loving friends to grab a taste. Schalk and Jan also sold quite a few boxes of the wine.
A new addition to the table which we were trying out on the night, was selling some of our soft and smooth 10 year old brandy via little chocolate cups. “It’s like a choc/brandy shooter!” says Jan. And what a hit!
On the restaurant side, we sold out of more than 400 salmon roses – and the restaurant team went home totally satisfied with the evening’s sales!
