Son of Oratorio set for Gr 1

OBLITERATOR, a half-brother to last year’s Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Just The Judge, will prep for the Qipco 2,000 Guineas next month by running in Wednesday’s Ebm-Papst Feilden Stakes with trainer Ger Lyons saying “if I have a Group 1 horse in the yard then he is it”.

The son of Oratorio won his first and only start at the Curragh in September and can be backed at 50-1 for the Classic.

“If I have a Guineas horse in the yard, this is the fella,” said Lyons, the subject of a stable tour in Monday’s Racing Post.

“He’s a half-brother to Just The Judge and will be aimed at the Guineas.”

Lyons, who trains Obliterator for Qatar Racing Limited and Pan Sutong, added: “He works like a good horse but he’s even better on the track. I like him a lot.”
