Restful times in the paddocks in Winter

With the paddocks decked out in their greenest finery, the pace has slowed down considerably on the Stud side of the business.  Relaxed mares stroll around in the lush grass, and next  year’s yearling crop are sporting woolly coats to ward off the worst of the winter.

Yearlings sporting a woolly Winter coat

Pippa and her team are keeping up the good work, looking after our pregnant mares, champion sire VAR and the younger members of the family, who are still acting like naughty “teenagers” in spite of a few icy days and rainy weather.

It’s a beautiful time at the Estate and as we slowly gear down to a well-earned rest, and then very quickly gear up again by September into breeding and foaling time, visitors are continuously stunned by the views and condition of the farm, this time of year.
