Avontuur’s exciting sire, Oratorio, is the leading sire in Italy by prize money for the 2012 season. The son of Danehill had a magnificent year in 2012, and he heads the Italian general sires premiership thanks in part to his superb daughter, Cherry Collect. Oratorio had four stakes winners in Italy during the past year – highlighted by Cherry Collect- she won Italy’s two classic races for fillies (Premio Regina Elena, Oaks D’Italia).
Her sire is well clear on the Italian sires premiership – with his offspring earning over 840,000 euros in Italy. He is more than 250,000 euros off his closest rival on the log.
The multiple G1 winner continued to churn out the winners – his son Pearl Mix became his latest stakes winner, when he won Wednesday’s Hyde Stakes over 1600 metres.
Oratorio will be introduced to the racing public at the 2012 Avontuur Estate Cape Fillies Guineas race day.
