Our highly rated and much-loved Avontuur Estate Restaurant, launched a new Summer menu on 1 September.
“As always we made sure to keep old favourites like the Roast Duck, Fillet, Salmon Roses and Deep-fried ice cream on the menu, but we had fun playing around with Middle Eastern influences like our Grilled Calamari with Chilli, Garlic and Coriander Hummus and the Quinoa Salad with chickpeas, fried Haloumi and roast butternut,” says co-owner and chef Melanie Paltoglou.
Desserts have always been spectacular at this venue with partner Zunia Boucher-Myers, well-known for her innovative and absolutely divine desserts. The new menu is no exception and features new dishes like crepes with strawberry confit and honeycomb ice cream and a gluten-free orange cake with mascarpone. On the Dinner menu, the chocolate fondant is sure to be a winner!
The new breakfast menu offers five options ranging from the classic English to a Meditteranean-inspired version. Each dish is paired with one of Avontuur’s wines, courtesy of winemaker Jan van Rooyen. A blackboard menu rings in daily changes which are eagerly ordered by the large number of local regulars.
The Avontuur Estate Restaurant is known for its monthly network breakfasts, regular events and special dinners which can be tailor-made to suit clients or celebrations. Bookings are now open for year-end functions, Christmas and New Year’s eve.
