Although the straight-forward enjoyment of Avontuur Estate’s award-winning wines will always be top of the list at this family-owned wine and stud farm in the Helderberg region of Stellenbosch, the team in the tasting room love to spice up the experience by offering a different wine & taste sensation every now and again.
The launch of our new Chocolate and Wine pairing will therefore once again be a huge hit!
We offer five wines paired with five curated chocolates, each selected to pair perfectly. The wines are: Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir/Chardonnay, Pinotage, Cabernet Sauvignon and Dominion Royale Shiraz Reserve. The chocolates range from milk chocolate, white chocolate and dark chocolate to a choc-dipped pretzel – al with various fillings and flavours!
Not only does the pairing give an overview of our wine range, it is also a relaxing way to enjoy a tasting with quality products in a convivial setting on the terrace if the weather is good, or inside in our cosy tasting room when cooler days arrive.
The pairings are self-guided with assistance from our tasting room staff, and cost R100 pp. The duration is around 30 minutes and its huge fun to do with other wine loving friends to compare your favourites – and not-so-favourites.
Combine it with our self-guided Farm Walk for R120 pp and it’s a great way to spend some time in the outdoors before sitting down to this indulgent experience.
Although you can arrive without booking, we recommend that you phone or email ahead to ensure everything is in place when you arrive. For groups, it’s essential to book.
