At Avontuur we celebrate Women’s Month with our annual Mares and Foals Walk, which is planned this year for Tuesday 22 August and Tuesday 29 August, from 09h30-12h30. The walk will be led by Philip Taberer and there will be lots of photo opportunities as you learn more about the farm from one of our owners. Not only are there the cute foals and their dams in the green paddocks to exclaim over, but also the views of the Helderberg and False Bay from higher up on the Estate which just cry out for stunning pics.
As Var and Oratorio have just been rated as two of the top stallions in the country, we feel that we have to “allow” the boys in too, and participants will therefore also meet up with our super sires in the stables at the end of the walk where Pippa will introduce them and you will be able to find out more about the serious business of racehorse breeding!
After the walk, winemaker Jan van Rooyen will present a tutored wine tasting and then a light lunch from the Avontuur Restaurant will follow. So, we invite you to spend a morning with us!
