We had a lovely day on Friday, 18 July when, as part of the general Mandela Day “67 minutes for charity” drive, tasting room staffers Cara Lee and Ella, arranged for a fundraiser to benefit the Western Cape Equine Trust, which looks after retired race horses.
Visitors to the tasting room and restaurant were asked to donate their loose change and to put down their names in a raffle with three great prizes to be won: a night for two at Highlands House in Kenilworth, a riding safety helmet or a bottle of our stunning 10 year old pot-stilled brandy.
The good work of the Trust was graphically illustrated when each of the 67 minutes was used to identify one of the race horses helped by the organisation by naming them via an ingenious new use for one of our bubbly riddling racks!
The raffle part of the fundraiser is continuing for the rest of the month, so make a point of entering your name and dropping off your small change when next in the restaurant or tasting room.
