With the build-up to the Avontuur Fillies Guineas Raceday on Saturday 8 December, we are proud to announce the Intercontinental Village race draw results, courtesy of Gold Circle.

Saturday, 8th December will see the running of the first Grade 1 event for the Cape Sizzling Summer Season, the Avontuur Estate Cape Fillies Guineas (Grade 1).
At the barrier draw which took place at the stunning Avontuur Wine Estate on Thursday, 29th November, the Western Province Racing CSI initiative kicked in, when the 16 runners in the race were paired with various communities, charities and media partners.
The participants, who will be represented in the Intercontinental Village will all be on course on Saturday, 8th December, offering their traditional fare and entertainment and will be cheering their horses on in the hope that they will reach particularly one of the first four places in the prestigious Avontuur Fillies Guineas race. The grid below reflects the various communities and their respective partners.

Western Province Racing is proud to be putting up the prize money which will go to nominated charities as chosen by their representing country. 1st place = R25 000; 2nd place = R15 000; 3rd place = R10 000 and the balance of the field will receive R4 000 per runner.
Various stalls and crafters will be on course and there will be plenty of free kiddies’ entertainment from 11:00 onwards. The spectacular Ferrari and Maserati display is also sure to capture the attention of many race goers.
Superb on-course entertainment, a festive beer garden and wine tasting will be the order of the day. Well know Cape Town Duo, Fire ‘n Styx and the ever popular Tombstone Pete will be performing live.
Of course, this is all over and above the 10 exciting horse races which will be staged.
Join us after racing on the 1st floor for half price drinks, complimentary snacks and live music by Axe.
