September is not only the start of Spring at Avontuur, but we also celebrate South Africa’s official Heritage Day on Saturday, 24 September – and at the same time have fun with the unofficial version called “Braai Day” in the local tongue.
For the whole month we’re offering our exclusive Avontuur-branded “Braai Box” in the tasting room for R500 each. This will make the perfect gift for any barbecue fan in your family or just as a fun activity instigator. (Includes: 2 x Bottles of Cabernet/Merlot 2013, an Avontuur apron, Avontuur branded braai tongs, Funky Ouma Shiraz-flavoured braai spice and 2 packets of biltong.) On Heritage Day itself, over and above our usual tasting room activities, you can also treat yourself to a special Heritage Day platter @ R140 each. They are packed with liver and snoek paté, cold meats, artisanal cheeses, preserves and biscuits, and can be enjoyed inside or outside on the terrace with a glass of wine or two.
