With the nomination last week of 8yo son of Oratorio, Military Attack, for the Hong Kong Jockey Club Champion Awards, the list of four fillies and one colt by Oratorio at this week’s Sibaya KZN Yearling sale should draw quite a bit of attention.
An excited Avontuur GM Pippa Mickleburgh was elated at the news that Oratorio’s progeny continued to perform internationally.
She said that breeders may not have realised that there are still a limited number of services available to Oratorio.
“They will have to move quickly but I can accommodate a few more mares and if anybody wants to breed a hardy classical horse that can go on and win the Met and the July, then why look further than the big O?” she laughed.
Phone Pippa now to lay the foundation of your dream.
This champion son of Danehill, whose first SA yearlings have fetched up to R3.2 million this season, can be proud of the high quality lots on offer at the Durban Sale.
The four fillies are: Lot 30 – Chica Musica, Lot 126 – Love Theme, Lot 180 – The Fugue and Lot 198 – Unnamed. The only colt is Lot 268 called Victor Victorio who hails from the family of Gypsy’s Warning and is inbred to Danehill.
With Oratorio’s book now open for covers, we look forward to a good result at the Sale, and more exciting foals and yearlings to come.
