Kenilworth race course is a hive of activity today with the set-up of the Intercontinental Village in full swing! Workers are running around, staff are handling the branding all over the course and gardeners are making sure the terrain looks its best!
The Ferrari and Maserati exhibition, which will feature around 10 of these impressive machines, will be finalised tomorrow, but the area is ready and waiting to receive its “prestigious” guests – and will surely be one of the most visited areas on the day.
Inside the building, the team from the O-company, who’s been handling Avontuur’s decor for the VIP area in the Peninsula Room for the last few years, are laying tables, decorating floors and setting out the various elements highlighting the theme of the event – which is currently still a secret – and will be revealed only once the doors open tomorrow from around 12h00.
Some of South Africa’s top fillies are finalising their exercise programmes as well and with a wonderful contingent from upcountry also participating, the race should be one to remember. And the big question; Who will take the crown from last year’s winner Princess Victoria?
