Avontuur Estate is proud to announce the inclusion of the newly released Dominion Royale Shiraz Reserve 2009 in the prestigious Top 100 SA Wines for 2012.
Winemaker Jan van Rooyen was on hand on Thursday, 19 April at Rodwell House in St James to receive the certificate formalizing our achievement.
The previous 2008 vintage achieved various accolades locally and internationally and this follow up vintage seems set to keep up the good work.
As Jan states: “This vintage is more elegant and restrained than the very big 2008, but it rewards with subtlety and complexity. I am very happy for Avontuur to be one of the achievers in this competition and believe that wine drinkers everywhere – and especially Shiraz lovers – will really enjoy this wine!”.
The wine is named after our resident stallion for many years, Dominion Royale, who passed away in 2006 and forms part of our black label premiere range, all of which are named after our race horses.
