With serious prize money for the main race of R750 000, and the Gr 2 Tony Taberer Southern Stakes plus other exciting races, lined up for the day, our annual event at Kenilworth race course in Cape Town just keeps on growing.
Once again VIP guests will have a treat waiting for them in the 4th floor Peninsula room where a wonderful lunch, coffee and cheese stations and afternoon High Tea awaits them in a room decorated to celebrate the eminent arrival of our new imported stallion, Oratorio, from Australia. For the less serious visitor, but still someone who wants to have a lot of fun, the Somerset Room is offering a day of good food, casual dining and lovely views of the race course at only R230 pp. Bookings can be made at racecoursecaterers@telkomsa.net
The good news for the hundreds of casual visitors who just want to make use of the beatufiul facilities at the race course and have a family fun day, is the introduction of the new Inter-continental village concept where 9 countries will be given space to exhibit the food, crafts, music and dance of their country of origin – which will immediately add a vibe to the outside areas of the race course. Free kiddies entertainment, a beer garden serving imported beers and Avontuur wine, live music and fun under the oak trees, will make this one of the highlights of the annual racing calender. Gates open at 11h00 and entrance is free for the whole family.
