Channel your inner Italian this weekend at Avontuur Estate between Stellenbosch and Somerset West and join in for a pop-up pairing of five differently flavoured hand-made biscotti’s by local artisanal bakers, Nana’s Manna and five of Avontuur’s wines. Flavours include Dark Chocolate, Mixed Berries and Honey and Almond.
This interesting pairing was put together to highlight the flavours of the wines in a unique way. Tasting Room Manager Ella Grimston explains: “When we tasted the incredibly yummy biscotti produced by this husband and wife team, we knew we should do a pairing with it. From sweet to savoury many of the flavours were created especially for the pairing and after tasting quite a few combo’s and flavour profiles, this one was decided on.”
The cost is R120 pp and visitors are welcome to pop in during opening hours daily over the weekend and give it a try. It’s best to book though at winery@avontuurestate.co.za or +27 21 855-3450 as the tasting room team can then ensure the pairing is ready for your arrival.
