The dessert Deep Fried Ice Cream with butterscotch sauce
Why you’ll love it All of Avontuur’s desserts are delicious but my favourite is the decadent deep-fried ice cream with butterscotch sauce: rich and creamy vanilla ice-cream wrapped in phyllo pastry and deep-fried to crispy perfection served with a buttery butterscotch caramel sauce.
Good to know The roast duckling with a Van der Hum sauce and caramelised orange has to be one of – if not – the best roast duck in the Cape. Wash this down with the easy-drinking 2015 Avontuur sauvignon blanc which, at R115 a bottle, is outstanding value.
